Be aware of fraudsters using "vishing" techniques to try and access your personal information.

In an effort to try and trick you into divulging your personal information, fraudsters are employing a technique which utilizes a telephone or text message notification indicating that your account has been blocked. The message instructs recipients to contact a specified telephone number where they are then prompted to enter their credit card information and PIN access code.

This technique is commonly referred to as "vishing" and the best way to mitigate this attack is to exercise a proactive approach to dealing with messages that originate over the telephone or by email that seem suspicious in nature. The best common practice is to "check it out" yourself and never rely on information that is left as a voice message or visit links that are sent via email. When in doubt always contact your financial institution via verified telephone numbers.
