Relationship Rewards
Relationship Rewards is a program that rewards you for doing business with us
The higher your balance with Tech CU (through your combined deposit, loan and investment accounts), the more benefits you receive. Relationship Rewards consists of three levels: Preferred, Preferred Plus and Premier. To make it easier to qualify for the highest possible level, you can link together all the account balances in your household.
The easiest way to increase your level is by linking together all the members in your household. For example, if two or more people in your home are Tech CU members, we'll combine your total balances, possibly pushing your entire household into a higher Relationship level. Use the Householding Details & Consent Form (PDF) to combine your accounts.
Householding Membership Accounts
You and any other Tech CU member living at the same physical address may "household" your account balances to attain a higher Relationship Rewards tier. Your account vesting remains the same, protecting your right to privacy. Householding your accounts does not provide other members in your household access to your private information including, but not limited to, your balance.
Example:
Sally, Joe, Sue and Tom all live at the same physical address.
- Sally has Savings, Checking and Car Loan Accounts vested in her name only: Total Balance: $15,000
- Joe has an Investment account, a Certificate and a Visa Credit Card vested in his name only: Total Balance: $50,000
- Sue has Savings and Checking accounts vested in her name only: Total Balance: $1,500
- Tom has a Home Equity Line of Credit vested in his name only: Total Balance: $20,000
The total balance for the household is $86,500 - placing all four individuals at the Preferred Plus level. During the last week of every statement period, we obtain the outstanding balances on your Tech CU fixed-term loans (real estate, vehicle, etc.), your Tech CU VISA® Credit Card and the balance in your Tech Investment Management brokerage account(s).* On the last day of each statement period, we obtain the average daily balances in your Tech CU Membership Share, Share Draft (Checking), Share Certificate, Insured Investment, Money Market Plus and IRA accounts, and the balance(s) outstanding on your other Tech CU lines of credit. We add all of those balances together to determine your Relationship Rewards balance level for that statement period.
If your balance increases to an amount that elevates you to a higher rewards level, you will enjoy all the benefits of that level beginning with the next statement period. If your balances drop to an amount that places you in a lower level, your level will not change until the end of the next month. Each month, your Relationship Rewards level will be displayed on your account statement and on your Online Banking account summary page.
New members receive all the benefits listed under the Preferred level for the first three months after a membership is opened. Beginning the fourth month, all of your Tech CU accounts will be added together. This aggregate sum will then determine your appropriate Rewards level.
